Official: Barcelona boss Flick wins La Liga award

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Tuesday secured for himself a fresh piece of individual silverware. This comes amid confirmation of the German beating out the competition to the La Liga Player of the Month award.

Flick’s Barca are of course fresh off a spectacular opening to the new season all told. Across eight fixtures in all competitions, the Blaugrana have racked up a perfect eight wins.

This run includes five outings in September, giving rise to a remarkable 24 goals scored.

It therefore came as little surprise when the aforementioned Flick was recently named amongst the nominees for La Liga’s Manager of the Month accolade, alongside Atlético Madrid icon Diego Simeone, and Real Betis’ Manuel Pellegrini.

And as alluded to above, on Tuesday, Barcelona’s headmaster has officially beaten out his counterparts to lift the prize. As per a statement across La Liga’s social media platforms:

‘An incredible month with Barcelona. Hansi Flick is the Manager of the Month for September.’
