Everton, Fulham, West Ham United among eight clubs vying for Victor Lindelof

Everton, Fulham and West Ham United are among at least eight sides vying for the signature of Victor Lindelof on a free transfer.

According to Caught Offside, Victor Lindelof is already attracting big interest from some of the stable Premier League sides as well as a few of those abroad. As many as eight clubs are vying for the Swedish defender’s signature ahead of the summer, with the 30-year-old set to leave Manchester United as a free agent.

Manchester United fans may not end up missing Victor Lindelof when he leaves in the summer. The Swedish defender’s deal is about to expire once the season ends, and while he has been a steady servant, the centre-back was never seen as a starter of sorts for the club.

Ruben Amorim has used him regularly off the bench to close off games, as Lindelof has so far made 11 appearances in the Premier League including four starts this season. Manchester United have decided against offering him a new deal, as he’s destined to leave on a Bosman move.

Lindelof may not have to struggle too much to find his next club, with many of those already showing an interest. As per the report, at least eight teams are vying for his signature with some from within the Premier League while the others come from abroad.

Former club Benfica are keen, while he could consider offers from Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan. However, the bigger attraction might be to stay within the Premier League where he could play regularly, as Everton, Fulham and West Ham United are among those interested in the exit-bound Manchester United star.

Victor Lindelof to stay in the Premier League

At the current moment, the likes of Everton and West Ham could potentially offer Lindelof an important role within their squad. Even Fulham boss Marco Silva could find a way to give him significant minutes, although none of those clubs might consider him as a defender to start regularly for the club.

Hence, there might be the case of experimenting abroad especially if clubs like Inter Milan and Juventus make their interest in the defender concrete. However, at this point, a move to former side Benfica might seem the best bet for the exit-bound Manchester United star, as he could be a regular starter there, although there are still chances for him to stay put in the Premier League.
