According to TBR, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all made enquiries for Pietro Comuzzo ahead of the summer. Fiorentina will look to fend off interest from top clubs not only from England but also from Italy, as they may have the upper hand in deciding the future of the 20-year-old Serie A defender.
Pietro Comuzzo has fared exceptionally well in his breakthrough season in Serie A. The 20-year-old Serie A defender has made a mark with 41 appearances for the Viola, with 22 of them coming from a starting role, as Fiorentina have made a big impact in Italy this season.
Fiorentina are secured about the defender due to him having a long-term contract at the club and will be confident of keeping hold of the player. Fabrizio Romano reported that Viola had further extended Comuzzo’s deal until 2030 with the agreement before that being only until 2028, meaning they will be in power to decide his immediate future in the summer.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have been interested, and they have made enquiries about his availability ahead of the summer. Either of those teams are in the market for a young defender to improve their defensive ranks, as Comuzzo could be seen as an alternative of sorts compared to some of the other rather expensive targets.
As for Comuzzo, he might have found his feat in this Fiorentina side, but there’s a long way to go for him to establish himself as one of the top defenders on the continent. He has a long career ahead, and while a move to England might not materialise, he will certainly have plenty of big admirers ahead in the future.
Chelsea are already in the mix to sign Dean Huijsen and Marc Guehi to improve their ranks, while they were also linked with Valencia star Cristhian Mosquera of late. The Blues need a young defender, and their chase for Huijsen is proving to be complicated due to the presence of Arsenal and Liverpool among others.
Manchester United were linked with Jonathan Tah, although their recent movements in the market signal the intent to sign someone much younger. Hence the links to Comuzzo make perfect sense, although the Red Devils, much like their adversaries in Arsenal and Chelsea may have to look at other options than the 20-year-old Serie A defender.
