According to Vene Casagrande, Flamengo are eager to bring Joao Felix on loan in the summer from Chelsea. The Blues attacker has had a torrid few seasons at the top level, with AC Milan unlikely to keep him beyond the current loan spell, as there are other suitors ahead of the summer to take him off Chelsea’s books.
Chelsea may have realised their mistake in forking out a rather large sum to sign Joao Felix last summer. The 25-year-old Chelsea misfit has been having a torrid time at the top level, as a loan move to AC Milan has not worked out at all for all parties concerned.
Due to his lack of regular starts at Chelsea in the first part of the season, he went on loan to AC Milan, and now it seems unlikely he will make the move permanent. The Rossoneri had decided long ago that Felix would be returning to Stamford Bridge, as his future beyond the summer looks to be in limbo.
There’s some interest from West Ham United, while there are links to many other teams in the mix to explore a decent move in the summer. Felix could also return to his former side Benfica, which would make a lot of sense given the Portuguese club were in the mix to sign him before he moved to Chelsea from Atletico Madrid.
Chelsea are ready to sell Felix in the summer and will invite bids for the 25-year-old misfit. The club does not feel the Portuguese attacker has any kind of future at the club, and now, there;’s a surprise suitor from Brazil in the form of Flamengo.
Flamengo are eager to solidify their transfer plans and bring in a marquee name of sorts in the summer window. They are now keen to sign Felix on loan for the season and add a buy option in the deal to convince the Chelsea board to make a deal.
The idea of playing outside of Europe at the time when the chips are down for the player would make sense for Felix. However, he might prefer to stay at the top level, and probably even make a return to Benfica to continue his career, although given the salary he draws, it could be another loan for the 25-year-old Chelsea misfit.
