According to a report from Fichajes, Arsenal are looking to add more firepower to their attack and they have their eyes set on Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz. Mikel Arteta is a big admirer of the Moroccan international and is keen on having him in his squad ahead of next season.
Diaz came up the ranks at Manchester City before making the switch to Los Blancos at the start of 2019. He spent a significant amount of time out on loan at AC Milan. Thanks to his consistent performances for the Italian giants, Carlo Ancelotti decided to make him an important part of his first-team plans starting the 2023/24 season.
While he had limited game time, the 25-year-old certainly made the most out of every opportunity he got. Despite his impressive performances, Diaz has had to settle for just over 2,000 minutes of first-team action so far this season.
He has even contributed towards 13 goals but things don’t really look that promising for him at Santiago Bernabeu. While he remains an important squad player and still has over two years left on his deal at the club, multiple clubs could look to try and lure him away.
Arsenal have emerged as a potential destination for the 25-year-old. Mikel Arteta has worked with him in the past during their time together at Manchester City and he feels Diaz could have an instant impact at Arsenal.
He could significantly bolster their attack. The Real Madrid star could compete with Gabriel Martinelli for a place in the starting XI. More importantly, he can cover for both Bukayo Saka and Martín Odegaard, thanks to his versatility.
Arteta is confident that he could take them to another level and help push for the league as well as the Champions League title. As a result, the Gunners have made him a priority target for the summer.
While Los Blancos are pleased with his performances, they could consider a sale at the right price due to Arda Guler’s impressive rise and the possibility of re-signing Nico Paz.
