Real Madrid hopeful of beating Arsenal, Manchester United to Viktor Gyokeres

Real Madrid are considering a move for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres as a strategic move for the club while hoping to beat Arsenal and Manchester United.

According to Fichajes, Real Madrid are considering a move for Viktor Gyokeres, with the Sporting CP striker seen as a ‘strategic’ transfer for the team. The Spanish giants are eager to beat the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United for the prolific hitman, as they are ready to open negotiations with the Portuguese club.

Viktor Gyokeres has continued to attract big interest in the market, as the Swedish striker seems destined to make a big career move. He has been sensational for Sporting CP in his two seasons here, and this term alone he has contributed to 64 goals.

Real Madrid are the latest to enter the race for the Swede, with Florentino Perez viewing the move as a ‘strategic idea’ to strengthen the squad. The Spanish giants already boast the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior in their ranks, and adding the Swedish goal machine would make their frontline formidable.

There will be the question of whether Viktor Gyokeres starts regularly in that team given Mbappe takes up the No.,9 spot. Hence, his arrival could make tweaks to their system, with Xabi Alonso the big favourite to replace Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager; the Spaniard would need an additional striker in the ranks to give the team multiple options.

Gyokeres has a €100 million release clause, but Real Madrid are ready to open direct negotiations with Sporting CP to reduce the price. Many reports have stated the Portuguese club could slash a considerable portion of the release clause, although the big issue is the competition for the Swedish forward.

Real Madrid hope to beat the competition for Viktor Gyokeres

Real Madrid are not alone in the race, although they are aiming to beat rivals like Arsenal and Manchester United. The Red Devils, led by former Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim would like to bring the Swede, and they are somewhat optimistic to sign the striker in the summer.

Arsenal are reportedly the front-runners to sign Viktor Gyokeres, and at the current moment, they are one of the favourites to sign the Swede in the summer. For now, he is not seen as their main target for the No.9 spot, but certainly at the very top of their list of targets ahead of the summer.
