Liverpool are without a win in the last two Premier League matches, and the newly crowned champions will hope to bounce back strongly when they lock horns with Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Monday night.
Although the visitors do not have anything to play for, they will not want to end the season with poor performances. Meanwhile, the away side do not have any major injury problems heading into Monday’s Premier League game.
Joe Gomez has been missing for several weeks, but the English defender has now resumed training. It remains to be seen whether he is given an opportunity before the end of the season. Responding to questions about his team during his pre-match press conference, Arne Slot seemed to be keeping the cards close to his chest as far as the lineup against Brighton is concerned.
The Liverpool manager said, “It’s quite early for me now to say what the team would look like and what the squad would look like for Monday.”
Liverpool are likely to shape up in their usual 4-2-3-1 formation against Brighton & Hove Albion, with Alisson Becker in goal. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson are likely to be deployed as the full-backs. They will look to contribute at both ends of the pitch. Ibrahima Konate will pair up alongside Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the defence.
As for the midfield unit, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister will add creativity and control to the side. Dominik Szoboszlai will look to link the midfield with the attack when he reprises the number ten role.
Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo will start on the flanks, and they will look to add goals and flair to the side. Finally, Diogo Jota will lead the line for Liverpool against Brighton & Hove Albion. So, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Federico Chiesa will be backup options for the away side on Monday.
Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Jota
