According to Fichajes, Christopher Nkunku is now a target for Tottenham ahead of the summer window. The French attacker is ready to leave Chelsea and relaunch his career elsewhere, as Spurs are ready to make a loan offer with an option to buy him at the end of it.
Christopher Nkunku may still have a key role to play for Chelsea in the final game of the season in the Conference League final. The French attacker has failed to cement a place in the regular Premier League setup for most parts of the campaign but has excelled in cup competitions.
Nkunku is now keen to leave Chelsea and resurrect his career at a club where he has good enough importance in the squad. There are a lot of clubs showing an interest, as the Frenchman could have a host of choices to move should he quit the Blues.
A host of Premier League clubs have been mentioned as suitors, while continental giants Bayern Munich and Juventus have been looking at him. Chelsea are hoping to recoup most of the money they paid to sign Nkunku, although there’s a huge possibility that they might have to sell at a loss.
Tottenham are now keen on Nkunku, as they are hoping to explore a move for the attacker to bolster their ranks in the final third. Spurs are reportedly open to offering a loan move with a buy option worth around €45 million, which sounds similar to their deal for Mathys Tel.
Tottenham and Chelsea do not meet on the business side of things, although they did come close to opening talks for Conor Gallagher recently. The two London giants have rarely done any deals with each other, which could potentially change with the Nkunku situation.
Chelsea might want an outright sale as they would aim to use the money from the sale to sign new players suited for their Champions League campaign. Tottenham must offer strong terms that will end up suiting Chelsea, which could open the doors for this transfer. However, any move will depend on Nkunku, who might consider moving out of England altogether should the right offer arrive on his table.
