According to a report from CaughtOffside, Arsenal are keen on acquiring the services of VfB Stuttgart sensation Nick Woltemade and have already enquired about his availability. The Gunners seek more firepower in the final third and they consider him an ideal fit for their project but could face competition from West Ham United.
Woltemade came up the ranks at Werder Bremen and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining Stuttgart last summer. He has had an exceptional debut campaign as he has been involved in a total of 33 matches and has contributed towards 20 goals (17 goals, 3 assists).
The 23-year-old forward’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed as multiple top clubs from across Europe are keen on signing him. Stuttgart do have him tied down to a contract that runs until 2028 but they are going to find it very difficult to hold onto him.
Ideally, the German club would love to have him in their team for another season. But given the high interest in his services, they are willing to negotiate a departure if an offer in the region of €45–50 million comes their way.
His height, technique, and finishing ability have made him a highly sought-after attacking profile. Arsenal and West Ham are both looking to add more quality in the final third and could go head-to-head for his signature.
The Hammers lack quality as well as depth in the final third and they are looking for a prominent goal scorer on a priority basis. They are interested in Woltemade and have been keeping a close eye on his situation, as they weigh up on a potential transfer.
Meanwhile, the Gunners have already taken a step towards signing the 23-year-old. They have made direct contact with Stuttgart to enquire about his availability this summer. They certainly seem to be quite serious about their pursuit of his signature.
Mikel Arteta desperately wants a new striker to lead his attack and Woltemade could certainly help their cause. He can not only feature as a number nine but could also play behind a striker as well as a number ten if needed. He could prove to be a great acquisition in the short as well as the long run.
