Manchester United rival Arsenal, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace to Lee Kang-in

Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are interested in acquiring the services of Champions League finalist Lee Kang-in.

Manchester United will certainly undergo massive changes this summer. While Ruben Amorim has a limited budget to work with, they are still expected to make numerous additions to their squad with a few of their highly paid players expected to be shown the exit door.

Amorim is keen on adding more creativity to his team and according to a report from CaughtOffside, the Red Devils have their eyes on PSG’s Lee Kang-in. The South Korean international has declined a new deal at the French club, which is certainly a boost for United, who are looking to beat Arsenal, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace to his signature.

Lee made a name for himself at RCD Mallorca before joining PSG in the summer of 2023. While he might not have been a guaranteed starter for the Ligue 1 giants, he has certainly gone from strength to strength and established himself as an important squad player.

The 24-year-old winger has been involved in a total of 45 fixtures this season. He has racked up close to 2,400 minutes of first-team action and has contributed towards 12 goals (6 goals, 6 assists). PSG are quite happy with the progress he has made and they are looking to secure his long-term future.

While his current deal runs until 2028, PSG were looking to extend his deal. They were in talks with the South Korean international but those talks haven’t yielded any positive result. Lee has turned down the new offer and renewal talks have been put on hold.

Premier League clubs to battle for Lee’s signature

It has resulted in a lot of speculation about his future and multiple English clubs are now looking to secure his services this summer. Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Crystal Palace are all keen and have either made contact or made their interest known.

Lee prefers playing on the right flank but he is equally effective in a number ten role, on the opposite flank as well as a striker. He could prove to be an exceptional signing for all three clubs. With Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio set to return to their parent clubs, he could fill that void at Vila.

Meanwhile, he could be just the perfect signing for Mikel Arteta’s team as he could provide cover for some of their biggest stars and push to be a regular on the left flank. At Palace, he could replace Eberechi Eze, who is expected to be on the move this summer.

All three clubs are thinking about making a move but Manchester United are looking to overtake them in the race for his signature. With his contract talks at PSG taking a backseat, they see this as a great opportunity.

Amorim wants a new attacking midfielder and they see Lee as an ideal fit for their project as he could solve multiple problems in one go. With the Portuguese manager pushing for his signature, the Red Devils are looking to step up their interest.
