Bryan Mbeumo in talks with Manchester United over summer move

Manchester United have reportedly held talks with Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo regarding a potential move this summer.

Manchester United are looking to reinforce their attack ahead of next season and Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is one of the names on their wishlist. According to a report from talkSPORT, the Red Devils have already held talks with the Cameroonian international as they look to add him to Ruben Amorim’s squad ahead of next season.

Mbeumo came up the ranks at Troyes and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining the Bees in the summer of 2019. The French-born attacker has slowly established himself as an important figure in the team and of late, he has been one of their standout performers.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed his second-most productive season to date, contributing 29 goals (20 goals and 9 assists) in 42 appearances across all competitions. He featured in all 38 of their league games, and only Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak, and Erling Haaland scored more league goals than him.

Mbeumo has played a big part in helping Brentford finish 10th in the Premier League. While Thomas Frank is keen on having him around, the manager is well aware of the fact that it won’t be easy. He recently admitted that they are a selling club and if someone comes up with the right offer, they would let him go.

While Brentford are reluctant to sell, they cannot really risk keeping him for another season as his contract runs out in 2026 and he could end up leaving for free. As a result, the Bees are ready to cash in on him and value him at around £50 million.

Manchester United looking to sign Mbeumo

Manchester United have emerged as a potential destination for the right-winger. The Reds Devils are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Matheus Cunha and now they are looking to add the Brentford forward to their squad as Ruben Amorim looks to reshape his team’s attack.

They certainly need more quality on the flanks as Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho are all likely to secure a permanent move away this summer. Given his track record at Brentford, Mbeumo could prove to be a smart investment for the Red Devils.

Manchester United have already held talks with his representatives and could soon look to test Brentford’s resolve with an offer. They are acting fast to ensure Amorim has enough time to work with the new players. With United pushing hard for the 25-year-old, it will be interesting to see how things pan out.
