According to a report from Give Me Sport, Al-Hilal are keen on acquiring the services of Manchester United superstar Bruno Fernandes. They have already submitted a lucrative offer to lure the Portuguese international to the club, and he has until Thursday to make a final call on whether is willing to move to the Middle East.
Fernandes has only gone from strength to strength since joining the Manchester-based giants from Sporting CP in 2020. Not only has he established himself as a key figure in the Mancester United first team, but he is also regarded as one of the best attacking midfielders in the world.
Manchester United have not had the best of seasons as they have finished in the bottom half of the Premier League table and ended up losing the UEFA Europa League final to Tottenham. They have already started making moves in the window to bolster Ruben Amorim’s squad.
While the Red Devils are closing in on the signing of Matheus Cunha, they are sweating over the future of their skipper Bruno Fernandes, who admitted after the final that his future at Old Trafford is not certain.
Amorim is keen to keep him in the squad going forward, and while Manchester United are reluctant to let him go, influential figures at the club are considering a sale to raise funds amid strong interest from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal.
Al-Hilal want to make a marquee signing ahead of next month’s Club World Cup, and Bruno Fernandes is at the top of their wishlist. They have been working on a potential transfer for a while now and have submitted their final offer for the 30-year-old.
Al-Hilal are willing to offer him a salary close to £700,000 per week in an attempt to lure him to the Middle East. He could pocked close to £65 million per season when the accommodation, flights, signing-on fee and bonuses are factored in.
The Saudi Arabian club’s president Fahad bin Nafel is the one driving their interest and they are using the funds that were set aside to sign Mohamed Salah, who has extended his stay at Liverpool. While they are ready to offer him a massive salary, they have given him a deadline to accept the move.
They want the Portuguese international to make a decision on his future until Thursday. If Fernandes is unable to make a call by then, Al-Hilal will start looking at other targets with the Club World Cup fast approaching.
