Whilst the threat of DNCG sanctions still lingers over Olympique Lyonnais, the club are looking to pull off a big-money signing, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.
Lyon will need to sell players this summer. Rayan Cherki, in talks to join Manchester City, looks closest to a move away from the club, whilst Malick Fofana is also attracting some top-level interest. Le Progrès have reported an interest from Liverpool, most notably.
However, it seems that OL are also working on incomings. Junior Firpo is a potential arrival. The full-back’s contract at Leeds United expires this summer. However, Lyon are also prepared to splash the cash, as they could do to acquire the services of Nottingham Forest’s Danilo (24).
According to Romano, Lyon have sent an offer of €25m to sign Danilo. The Brazilian midfielder could soon join the Ligue 1 side, who are set to play in the UEFA Europa League next season. Last season, Danilo made just 13 appearances for the Premier League side.
