According to a report by TEAMtalk, Ben Doak is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit in the summer transfer window by signing a young and highly-rated wide attacker. So, the 19-year-old Liverpool wonderkid has emerged as a target for the Merseyside club.
However, Everton and Liverpool are far apart in their valuations of the highly-rated winger. While the Reds want around £30 million to part ways with the Scot in the summer transfer window, the Toffees prefer to cough up £15 million, although they are open to going as high as £20 million. However, the difference in the figures may stall the negotiations between the two Merseyside clubs.
Ben Doak is one of the most promising young prospects in the Premier League, even though he has yet to establish a foothold in Liverpool’s first-team squad. A native of Dalry, the 19-year-old spent most of his formative years in Scotland but graduated from the youth division at Liverpool FC after joining the Reds in July 2022.
The Scottish international spent the 2024/25 season with Middlesbrough and amassed three goals and seven assists in 24 EFL Championship outings. However, an untimely thigh injury prematurely ended his campaign, and he has undergone surgery. Meanwhile, Doak’s progress has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs, including Everton.
Everton’s interest in Ben Doak is understandable. The Toffees have been scouring the market for a young and highly-rated wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window after choosing not to seal permanent deals for Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom. So, Doak has emerged as a viable target for Everton.
However, Liverpool’s asking price of £30 million poses a problem for Everton. While David Moyes rates the 19-year-old Scot highly, the Toffees do not want to overpay for his signature. They currently value Doak at around £15 million, although they are open to coughing up £20 million to secure his services.
It is unclear if Liverpool will continue insisting on the asking price of around £30 million amid Everton’s desire to go up to only £20 million. However, with the Reds reportedly eager to make a “massive profit” from Doak’s sale, it will be interesting to see what the future has in store for the Scottish international.
