Juventus keen on keeping Kenan Yildiz as Arsenal work on deal

Arsenal have added Kenan Yildiz to their list of left-wingers owing to the influence of Matteo Tognozzi, as Juventus are eager to keep the Turkish international.

According to Caught Offside, Kenan Yildiz does feature on Arsenal’s list of wingers, as the Turkish international now represents a viable target. The links could be the result of the Gunners closing in on the appointment of former Juventus’ Head of Scouting Matteo Tognozzi, who was instrumental in signing Yildiz.

Matteo Tognozzi is close to joining Arsenal, with the former Head of Scouting at Juventus set to join Andrea Berta’s team. The Italian has been instrumental in identifying some precious talents for Juventus, including Kenan Yildiz, as the Turkish international winger is now linked with a move to north London.

Arsenal had been interested in Yildiz, as the club could view him as a viable alternative to their current left-wing targets. The Turkish star can incidentally play on either wing as well as in other attacking positions, as Mikel Arteta could see him as a valuable addition. He had a decent enough season, with 16 goals and assists for club and country during the campaign.

The presence of Tognozzi could be a big factor in Yildiz joining the Gunners, although the north Londoners do not want to pay anything more than €60 million. Juventus, are eager to keep hold of him and hand a new deal until 2023, although they will not accept anything less than €80 million for the Turkish international.

Whether Arsenal view him as a target close to the likes of Nico Williams or a Rodrygo Goes remains to be seen. However, the €80 million-rated Serie A wonderkid can be a solid acquisition, who can give Arteta plenty of ideas and options in the final third due to his versatility and two-footedness.

Arsenal chasing a new left-winger

Arsenal have Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard as their main left-wingers at the moment, as Arteta may not sell either of those stars. Yet, the club are interested in signing a marquee player in that role, as there are links to Rodrygo Goes, with the Brazilian seen as their no.1 option ahead of the summer. However, there are big doubts if Rodrygo will leave Real Madrid, although should he indicate a willingness to do so, then the Gunners will be in the hunt.

Nico Williams is also seen as a top target, though there are persistent doubts about the financial viability of any deal, while he could even sign a new contract with Athletic Club. The Spaniard has a 58 million release clause, but his wages are the bigger issue for any of the interested parties. In the scenario that both Williams and Rodrygo are not achievable, then Arsenal should certainly look at the €80 million-rated Serie A wonderkid Yildiz from Juventus.
