Roony Bardghji seems to be set for a move away from FC Copenhagen this summer. According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Tottenham Hotspur are working on a deal to secure his services and beat the likes of Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Newcastle United to his signature.
Bardghji has had a sensational rise since joining FC Copenhagen back in 2020. He got promoted to their first team at the start of 2022 and has not looked back since. The 19-year-old winger has made quite a name for himself with his consistent performances and immense potential. Dubbed ‘the Swedish Messi’, the nickname is a testament to the level of talent he possesses.
The Swedish youth international has attracted a lot of interest from across Europe, and he could have secured a move away if not for a serious knee ligament injury. He suffered a ligament tear back in April last year and has only returned to action in March.
While it did hamper his growth as a player, Roony Bardghji remains quite highly rated, and multiple top clubs are ready to sign him this summer. His departure is almost certain as his contract at the Danish clubs runs out in just over six months.
Numerous English clubs are keen on his signature and have been scouting Roony Bardghji for the last few seasons. But they are concerned about his fitness as he is yet to return to his best. With other top clubs still pondering, Tottenham are looking to beat the competition.
The North London club have made massive changes to their transfer policy in recent years. They prioritise signing young stars with massive potential, and Bardghji certainly fits the bill. Spurs have a long-standing interest in him and have been keeping a close eye on his progress since 2023.
Tottenham’s technical director, Johan Lange, is working hard to secure his services. He is hoping to sign the teenage sensation in a bargain deal with his contract running out in six months and has been in talks with his representatives. But it won’t be that straightforward as he has held talks with other clubs in Europe as well.
In England, Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Newcastle United are all keen on his signature, and they have also held discussions with his camp. Aston Villa want more quality on the flanks, with Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio returning to parent clubs.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are looking to add depth to their ranks with his signing. He could prove to be a valuable addition to their team in the long run. As far as Newcastle United are concerned, Eddie Howe seeks more competition on the flanks and Bardghji could certainly help their cause.
While there is no shortage of interest in him, Tottenham are working hard to ensure they will the race for the signature of the “Swedish Messi”.
