Liverpool hold talks with Jorrel Hato, Ajax open to summer sale

Liverpool will reportedly compete with Arsenal and Chelsea to sign 19-year-old Dutch wonderkid Jorrel Hato from Ajax in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Duncan Castles on Football Transfers, Jorrel Hato is the subject of interest from Liverpool. The Reds have held talks with the Ajax prodigy’s representatives over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Eredivisie giants are ready to part ways with the 19-year-old wonderkid, with Arsenal and Chelsea also keen on signing him.

Jorrel Hato and his rapid rise

Jorrel Hato has established himself as one of the most sought-after defenders in the world since breaking into the first-team squad at Ajax. The Eredivisie giants’ struggles helped him land on his feet at the Johan Cruijff Arena, and he has become a mainstay at the back for his club and country.

The 19-year-old has already turned out over 100 times thus far for Ajax while chipping in with four goals and nine assists. In addition, Hato’s ability to play as a centre-back and a left-back has made him an asset for the Eredivisie outfit. Meanwhile, the Dutchman’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several Premier League bigwigs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

A man in demand

The Dutch wonderkid has been on Arsenal’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, considering Jakub Kiwior, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Takehiro Tomiyasu face an uncertain future at the Emirates. So, the Ajax defensive sensation has emerged as a viable target for Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s interest in Jorrel Hato is somewhat perplexing yet understandable. Enzo Maresca wants another top-class left-back in his squad, even though Marc Cucurella has been excellent in the last 12 months. So, Hato is an option worth considering for Chelsea.

As for Liverpool, Jarell Quansah is on the verge of joining Bayer Leverkusen this summer. In addition, Virgil van Dijk is approaching the twilight of his career. Furthermore, Andrew Robertson may join Atletico Madrid. So, the versatile Dutchman has emerged as a viable target for Liverpool this summer.

The Reds have held talks with the youngster’s representatives, and a summer move may be on the cards. However, Liverpool cannot rest easy, considering Arsenal and Chelsea are also keen on signing the 19-year-old Dutch defensive sensation.
