Juventus in touch with West Ham United to execute a swap deal involving Nayef Aguerd and Daniele Rugani

Serie A giants Juventus have reportedly contacted West Ham United to discuss a possible swap deal involving Nayef Aguerd and Daniele Rugani in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by reputed Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Nayef Aguerd is the subject of interest from Juventus. The Serie A giants are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit in the summer transfer window by signing a centre-back. So, the West Ham United outcast has emerged as a target for the Bianconeri.

The Serie A giants have contacted West Ham United to discuss a possible swap deal to sign Aguerd in the summer transfer window. The Bianconeri will offer Daniele Rugani to the East London club to sweeten the deal and bring the Kenitra native to the Allianz Stadium.

Nayef Aguerd and his West Ham woes

Nayef Aguerd has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining West Ham United from Stade Rennais in July 2022. The 29-year-old was in and out of the starting lineup in his first two seasons with the East London club before they loaned him to Real Sociedad last summer.

The Moroccan international was a regular for Real Sociedad in the 2024/25 season, amassing nearly 3,000 minutes of game time across 36 appearances in all competitions. However, Aguerd may not complete a permanent move to the Basque club in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the player has no future at West Ham United.

Serie A move on the horizon?

Nayef Aguerd does not want to continue at West Ham United, with the East London club ready to cash in on him in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the former Rennes centre-back has no shortage of suitors pursuing his signature, with Juventus among the clubs keen on signing him in the coming weeks.

Juventus’s interest in Nayef Aguerd is understandable. The Serie A giants are keen on bolstering their defensive unit by signing a centre-back in the summer transfer window, as Gleison Bremer is a long-term absentee due to a knee injury. In addition, Lloyd Kelly faces an uncertain future at the Allianz Stadium. So, the West Ham defender has emerged as a viable target for Juventus.

The Serie A giants are ready to offer Daniele Rugani in the deal to sign Aguerd from West Ham. The experienced Italian international has no future at Juventus, and West Ham may land a solid centre-back in the swap arrangement. With the Bianconeri in contact with West Ham, it will be interesting to see how talks between the two clubs progress.
