Tottenham, Everton in transfer tussle to sign Timothy Weah

Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing 25-year-old American wide player Timothy Weah from Serie A club Juventus in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by French outlet Foot Mercato, Timothy Weah has garnered a market, with four clubs keen on signing him in the summer transfer window. Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are among the prospective suitors vying for the Juventus wide player’s signature. However, it is unclear if the USMNT international is ready to leave the Serie A club this summer.

Timothy Weah and his career so far

Timothy Weah has made considerable progress since joining Juventus from LOSC Lille in July 2023. The son of the legendary George Weah, the young Weah was born in New York City and brought up in the USA. However, the American winger graduated from the youth division at Paris Saint-Germain before rising in prominence during his spell with LOSC Lille.

The 25-year-old wide player has come leaps and bounds in the last two years, becoming a regular on the right flank for Juventus. Weah enjoyed a solid 2024/25 campaign, contributing to 11 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net six times and providing five assists.

Meanwhile, Weah’s progress at Juventus has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known outfits across Europe. Four clubs are keen on signing the USMNT international in the summer transfer window, with Everton and Tottenham Hotspur among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Everton’s interest in Timothy Weah is understandable. The Toffees are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit in the summer transfer window by signing a wide attacker after choosing not to complete permanent deals for Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom. So, several candidates, including Oscar Bobb, have emerged on Everton’s radar, with Weah also a viable target.

As for Tottenham Hotspur, Richarlison faces an uncertain future at the North London club this summer. In addition, Timo Werner has returned to RB Leipzig after a dreadful loan spell with the Lilywhites. So, several attackers, including Xavi Simons, are on Tottenham’s radar, with Weah also an option worth considering.

While Everton and Tottenham will compete with two other clubs to sign the 25-year-old USMNT international, it is unclear if the player is ready to leave Juventus in the summer transfer window. It is also ambiguous if the Serie A giants are willing to part ways with the American winger.
