Crystal Palace, Leeds United, West Ham United vying for Joe Gomez, Liverpool stance revealed

Crystal Palace, Leeds United, and West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Joe Gomez from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Crystal Palace, Leeds United, and West Ham United are interested in Joe Gomez, who has struggled for regular game time at Liverpool. However, the Merseyside outfit will only part ways with the 28-year-old if he asks for a move away from Anfield. Otherwise, they are happy to keep him at the club.

The Englishman needs to play regularly at this stage of his career, and leaving the club would be ideal for him. Gomez will not want to sit on the bench at Liverpool next season. He is behind the likes of Virgil Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate in the pecking order. However, Jarell Quansah’s impending move to Bayer Leverkusen may open a window of opportunity for him.

Gomez is at the peak of his powers, and he should look to join a club where he will play regularly. Joining Crystal Palace could be ideal for him. They are expected to lose Marc Guehi this summer. The England international is in the final year of his contract, and Crystal Palace are under pressure to sell him.

The Eagles will not want to lose the player as a free agent. Replacing Guehi with Gomez would be ideal. The 28-year-old is one of the best defenders in the league when he is fit and on form. If the Englishman can get over his injury problems, he could be an asset for most teams.

Leeds United and West Ham United keen

Meanwhile, Leeds United have secured promotion to the Premier League, and they will look to establish themselves as a top-flight regular. The Whites need to improve the squad this summer in order to survive in the Premier League next year. Gomez will certainly help them tighten up at the back.

The Liverpool star is capable of operating anywhere in the back four, and his versatility will be an added bonus. Apart from his defensive skills, the versatile defender is composed on the ball and his distribution skills will add a new dimension to the Leeds United backline.

Finally, West Ham are keeping tabs on his situation as well. The Hammers endured a disappointing 2024/25 season, and they were quite vulnerable defensively. They need to improve to fight for a place in the top half next term. Signing a quality defender should be one of their priorities.
