Barcelona eyeing 2026 Bosman move for Marc Guehi

Hansi Flick’s Barcelona are plotting a Bosman move for Newcastle United and Liverpool defensive target Marc Guehi.

Barcelona are interested in acquiring the services of Marc Guehi. The Catalan giants consider the Crystal Palace defender an ideal fit for their project, and according to a report from Fichajes, they are eyeing a Bosman move for the English international.

Guehi hasn’t looked back since joining the Eagles in the summer of 2021 from Chelsea. Not only has he established himself as a key figure in the team, but the 24-year-old has also cemented his spot in the English national team.

He is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the Premier League. Thanks to his defensive solidity, tactical awareness and his ability to play out from the back, multiple European giants are after his signature.

With his contract running out in 12 months, the interest in his signature is at an all-time high. But Crystal Palace owner Steve Parish has made it quite clear that he won’t entertain any cut-price offers.

Liverpool and Newcastle United are two Premier League giants who are keen on signing the Chelsea graduate. The Reds are looking at him as an ideal replacement for Jarell Quansah, who is on the verge of joining Bayer Leverkusen.

Meanwhile, the Magpies want to freshen things up at the back with Fabian Schar and Dan Burn in the final phase of their career. Guehi could prove to be a great acquisition for Eddie Howe’s team, both in the short as well as long run.

Barcelona want to sign Guehi in 2026

While the English clubs are keen, the Eagles want a sizeable fee to sell one of their best players to a direct rival. As a result, a move this summer looks unlikely. It could play in the hands of Barcelona, who are waiting in the wings and closely monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation.

The Catalan giants are looking for a young centre-back with an eye on the future, and Guehi’s profile is a perfect fit for them as he has a lot of experience under his belt and there is still room for growth. While they want to sign him, Barcelona are aware that the cost of operation could be very high this summer.

As a result, they are plotting a Bosman move for the English international. With his contract running out next summer, they are hoping to secure his services on a free transfer. But that will only be possible if the Eagles fail to tie him down to a new deal.
