Ajax sensation Jorrel Hato could be heading to the Premier League as some of the biggest English clubs are keen on signing him. According to Graeme Bailey via TBR Football, Chelsea are stepping up their pursuit of the Dutch youth international, but Arsenal remain confident about winning the race. Meanwhile, Liverpool also remain interested in his signature.
Hato has come up the ranks at Ajax, and he has been a part of their first team since the summer of 2023. Despite being just 19, he has already featured in over 100 matches for their senior team. His performances and massive potential have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs.
The Dutch teenage sensation penned a new deal last year, which runs until 2028, but he could still be on the move this summer amidst interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.
While speaking to TBR about Hato’s future, Bailey said: “Arsenal see Hato as the perfect addition to the left side of their defence, but obviously it’s far from a done deal. We know that Chelsea are pushing hard to sign Hato and Liverpool still really like him. But I think Arsenal would be annoyed if they didn’t get Hato considering how much work they’ve been putting in.
“Arsenal have been chasing Hato since he was around 14 or 15 years old, so I think there is a bit of confidence there. They want to sell Zinchenko to make room for Hato and then we still expect Kiwior to go as well. There will be plenty of room in that squad for Hato who is able to play a variety of roles.”
Arsenal are looking to bolster their backline and view Jorrel Hato as an ideal fit for Mikel Arteta’s system and long-term project. The Gunners have been tracking the Dutch defender for the past four to five years and are confident that their sustained efforts will finally pay off.
They want more quality on the left side of their defence, and the versatile Dutch defender can certainly help their cause. The North London club are looking to cash in on Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Hato could come in to take his place in the team. With Jakub Kiwior also expected to be on the move, the 19-year-old will have plenty of room in the squad.
Jorrel Hato’s ability to feature as a left-back as well as a centre-back could come in handy for Arteta’s team. But, signing him won’t be that straightforward as Chelsea are determined to win the race for his signature. The Blues are pushing hard to sign the Ajax sensation.
The Blues are constantly on the lookout for young stars with massive potential, and the teenager is certainly an ideal fit for their project. While they have stepped up their efforts, Arsenal still remain confident about getting it over the line.
Liverpool are also interested in the young defender. The Reds seem him as an ideal option to bolster their backline with an eye on the future. However, they are not actively pushing for his signature at this stage.
