Andrew Robertson yet to decide on Liverpool future

Andrew Robertson has not decided on his future at Liverpool despite claims of green-lighting a switch to Atletico Madrid.

According to Caught Offside, Andrew Robertson is yet to decide on his immediate future amid interest from Atletico Madrid. The Liverpool veteran is in danger of losing his status as a starter in the team, which could potentially see him consider his future at Anfield.

Liverpool have acted swiftly in the market to bring in key reinforcements, with their three signings so far are all starters. First up, they did not waste time in replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold by bringing in Jeremie Frimpong and followed that signing by splashing the cash on German sensation Florian Wirtz.

The third signing was that of Milos Kerkez, with Liverpool confirming the Hungarian’s arrival. The former Bournemouth star is pencilled in to start games for Liverpool right off the bat, which could put Andrew Robertson’s status as a regular starter in jeopardy.

Atletico Madrid are interested in Robertson following a need for Diego Simeone to bring in a new left-back with the experience of the Liverpool veteran. The window is still young and there might be an impasse for a decision to come in from the defender.

Moreover, the players are still holidaying and hence, there has not been a swift outcome to the links from the Euro giants. Reports were stating Robertson had approved of a switch to Atletico Madrid, but that’s not the case as per the reports as the left-back could take his time evaluating his future and then make a firm decision.

Could Andrew Robertson stay at Liverpool?

Robertson may prefer to keep starting games for Liverpool or any other team. However, the arrival of Kerkez does threaten that prospect for the Scotland captain, who might be aware that Liverpool are ready to cash in if any club comes in with a big offer.

A decision from the Liverpool veteran might even be dependent on the future of Kostas Tsimikas, who is in a similar boat to Robertson when it comes to his time at the club. Hence, the likes of Atletico might have to wait for the experienced defender to decide on his future, as there’s a chance he will leave the Merseysiders.
