Arsenal eyeing Maghnes Akliouche swoop

Arsenal are interested in acquiring the services of AS Monaco attacking sensation Maghnes Akliouche this summer.

According to a report from L’Equipe, Arsenal are interested in signing Maghnes Akliouche, who had an impressive 2024/25 season with AS Monaco. The Gunners are looking to bolster their attack, and signing a new winger is one of their priorities. The French youth international is quite high on the North London club’s wishlist.

Akliouche has come up the ranks at Monaco. He got promoted to their first team back in 2022. The 23-year-old has slowly gone on to establish himself as a key figure in their team.

He had an impressive 2023/24 season at the club level, and on the back of it, he was a part of the French team that finished second at the Olympics last summer. He carried that form into the 2024/25 season, and his performances have now put him on the radar of quite a few top clubs from across Europe.

Akliouche was involved in a total of 43 matches across competitions, and he ended up contributing towards 19 goals. The young right-winger still has three years left on his deal at Monaco, but it seems he is all set to take the next step in his career this summer.

Arsenal are keen on signing Akliouche

The French club are unlikely to stand in his way as long as their demands are met. Arsenal are one of the clubs that have taken note of his performances. The Gunners are looking to sign a new striker and add more competition on the flanks this summer.

They are closing in on Viktor Gyokeres’ signature for the number nine role and are looking to bring in Akliouche to North London to give Arteta more options on the flanks. While people at Arsenal admire the 23-year-old, he is valued at £60 million, which certainly makes any deal very difficult to pull off.

Akliouche squared up against Arsenal in the group stage of last season’s Champions League. While his team were convincingly beaten, he still managed to impress those at the North London club with his overall performance.

Arsenal do have an advantage in their pursuit of the French youth international, as both Gyokeres and Akliouche are represented by agent Hasan Cetinkaya. Reaching an agreement on personal terms shouldn’t be an issue, but negotiating a deal with Monaco will certainly require significant effort.
