Arsenal willing to offer player-plus-cash deal to sign Eberechi Eze

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are ready to offer a player-plus-cash deal to beat Tottenham to the signature of Crystal Palace mainstay Eberechi Eze.

According to a report from The Sun, Arsenal are pushing hard to acquire the services of Eberechi Eze. The North London club’s chief Andrea Berta has recently held talks with his representatives as they look to beat Tottenham to his signature.

Eze has only gone from strength to strength since joining Crystal Palace back in 2020. The Englishman has not only established himself as a key figure in the team, but the 27-year-old is also widely regarded as one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League.

North London clubs to battle for Eberechi Eze

Eze has also been a regular feature in the England national team of late, and his impressive performances have put him on the radar of multiple clubs. Arsenal and Tottenham are two clubs that are ready to battle it out for his signature.

Spurs have been interested in Eberechi Eze for a long time. They are pushing hard to secure his services as Thomas Frank seeks more creativity in the centre of the park. Eze’s ability to feature as a number ten as well as on the flanks could come in handy for them.

Arsenal looking to lower Eze’s price tag

While Tottenham are working on a potential transfer, Arsenal are doing their best to beat them to Eberechi Eze’s signature. Berta is already in talks with his agents, and they are looking to put forward a player-plus-cash deal to make things easier for themselves.

Crystal Palace are ready to sanction his departure, but they will hold out for his £68 million release clause. The Gunners have already spent a significant amount this summer, and they do have a few more key moves lined up. As a result, a lower fee will certainly help their cause.

They already have the green light from the player. While the personal terms have been agreed upon, Arsenal are now pushing to strike a deal with Crystal Palace. The Gunners are now looking to add a young promising defender as part of the deal, and they are hoping the Eagles could consider accepting such a deal.

With Marc Guehi expected to leave the club and Chadi Riad set to miss the start of the season, Crystal Palace do need more quality at the back. Ousmane Diomande is their priority target to replace Guehi, but they could still look to have another young centre-back in their ranks.

While the identity of the Arsenal defender has not been made public yet, he is expected to be an emerging player who has only played a handful of games for the first team.
