Alan Virginius (22) has officially left LOSC Lille to join Swiss side BSC Young Boys.
According to Foot Mercato, Lille will receive a €2.5m transfer fee for the player, with a 17.5% sell-on clause included in the deal.
Virginius joined Lille from FC Sochaux-Montbéliard in August 2022. He made 50 appearances for Sochaux, scoring eight goals and catching the eye of Ligue 1 side Lille. However, the move to the Decathlon Arena never quite worked out. Virginius was loaned to Clermont Foot 63 for the second half of the 2023-24 campaign.
Last season, Virginius was loaned to Young Boys — the club he now joins permanently. He made 44 appearances for the Swiss side, scoring seven goals and providing four assists. He also featured in eight UEFA Champions League matches.
Having represented France at youth level up to the U21s, Virginius will hope to continue playing regular first-team football following a disappointing spell at Lille.
