According to Caught Offside, Joe Willock seems like a big opportunity for some of the Premier League sides this summer. The likes of Crystal Palace, Fulham and Leeds United are keen on the 25-year-old midfielder, with Newcastle United ready to sell.
Joe Willock did wonders for Newcastle United back in 2021 during a short loan from Arsenal. The Magpies ended up paying big for the young midfielder, who has since had a mixed period with the Magpies. Last season, as testament of his importance in Eddie Howe’s plans as the midfielder was only used as a squad player.
The midfield trio of Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali was the preferred setting for Howe, as Willock had to make do with munites from the bench. He did end up featuring in 32 Premier League games during the campaign, but he might seek a new challenge where he has renewed importance.
Newcastle United are ready to sell Willock amid growing interest from the likes of Fulham, Crystal Palace and Leeds United. The Cottagers are angling moves for players that would improve or add to the current setup, as the 25-year-old might be a good market opportunity given his age and experience in the top flight.
Crystal Palace are keen too, as they reportedly view Willock as a probable replacement for Arsenal-linked Eberechi Eze. The two players have different profiles, but the idea might feel sensible given Palace may not want to spend heavily on one position and would like to bring in multiple players in the window.
Leeds United are not only interested in Willock but also Sean Longstaff, with Newcastle United ready to sell the midfield duo. The newly promoted side have already made their move for the latter, as they might also consider Willock, given his experience in the Premier League.
Leeds United must challenge the likes of Palace and Fulham, as the duo do offer the chance for the 25-year-old to make his return to London. However, Willock’s next club might be decided based on where he has a prominent role, with either of them likely to give him a good amount of minutes next season.
