Bayer Leverkusen set to sign young Manchester City’s Farid Alfa-Ruprecht

Fabrizio Romano reports that Bayer Leverkusen have agreed to sign Manchester City talent Farid Alfa-Ruprecht. The Hamburg-born winger will head to the Bundesliga on a €5m deal. Ruprecht’s Premier League club have also, per Romano, hedged their bets via a 40 percent re-sale clause.

Ruprecht came up through the Hamburger SV academy before joining the Citizens in 2022. He moved up to the Man City reserves in 2024, scoring seven goals and contributing three assists in 12 Premier League 2 appearances. In the U18 Premier League, Ruprecht amassed 17 scorer points

The Germany U18 international also netted three goals and registered one assist in the UEFA Youth League last season. Ruprecht made Pep Guardiola’s matchday squad on one occasion, yet remained unused off the bench.

Romano claims that the 18-year-old has signed a long-term deal with die Werkself. It nevertheless appears as if the teenager will serve as a long-term prospect for Germany’s red company team.
