According to a report from L’Équipe, FC Metz have approached France international midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko (31) to sign him as a free agent. The former Monaco defensive midfielder is uncontracted after leaving PAOK at the end of last season.
The Frenchman struggled with fitness during his time in Greece. The former Chelsea midfielder only made 9 appearances across all competitions whilst playing in Thessaloniki. Before moving to PAOK, the midfielder previously had a spell in France with Lorient.
Currently without a club, the 31-year-old would be open to a return to Ligue 1 and the prospect of a move to the Lorraine outfit intruigues him, L’Équipe understands. Whilst the former West Ham United midfielder is open to joining Metz, there has been no agreement reached between the player and the club yet.
