Strasbourg interested in Basel’s Giacomo Koloto

RC Strasbourg-Alsace are reportedly keen on FC Basel centre-forward Giacomo Koloto (18), according to information from L’Équipe.

Having made his professional debut at the start of February, the Swiss Under-21 international (two caps) has quickly established himself as a first-team regular on the front line of the side managed by Stephan Lichtsteiner. So much so that he has featured in each of the RotBlu’s last 12 matches, starting eight of them and scoring his first two goals to secure victory against Lausanne-Sport in early March (1-2).

Currently under contract with the Basel side until 2030, Koloto is regarded as one of the great prospects of Swiss football, having played in the Under-17 World Cup as recently as last November.

In Strasbourg, he would join a young squad and, above all, gain a platform that could subsequently open the doors to the Premier League for him, through Chelsea FC, the figurehead of the BlueCo galaxy.
