Crystal Palace battle Manchester United for Jobe Bellingham

Manchester United could face competition from Crystal Palace in their pursuit of Sunderland sensation Jobe Bellingham.

According to a report from TBR, Manchester United and Crystal Palace are both keen on signing Jobe Bellingham, who has been doing wonders for Sunderland. Both Premier League clubs are well aware of his massive potential and do not intend to miss out on him.

Bellingham came up the ranks at Birmingham and made quite a name on his way up. He got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2022 and after just a year with the senior side, Sunderland secured his services.

He has gone from strength to strength since joining the Black Cats. Not only has he registered himself as a key figure in the team, but the 19-year-old has been one of their standout performers this season as they push for promotion to the Premier League.

While he prefers playing as a central midfielder, he has features in a deeper as well as in an attacking role. He has featured in a total of 40 league games and has contributed towards seven goals. The teenager has helped them secure a place in the Championship play-offs and his performances have caught the eyes of teams in the top flight.

Crystal Palace have been chasing him since the start of 2025. The Eagles have a great track record of signing young gems from the Championship and helping them take the next step in their career. Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton are three top players who have done wonders since moving to Selhurst Park.

The Eagles are keen on acquiring his services and they feel the success of Eze, Olise and Wharton could help them convince the teenage sensation, who recently won the Championship Young Player of the Season award.

Manchester United are also keen on Bellingham

Meanwhile, Manchester United are set to rival Palace. The Red Devils want to freshen things up and they consider Bellingham an ideal bet for the long run. They are pushing hard for his signature as INEOS looks to improve Ruben Amorim’s squad.

The Portuguese manager would certainly love to work with someone who is versatile and has a great work rate. The Sunderland sensation is currently valued at around £20 million, a figure United can certainly afford despite their recent financial struggles.

The Black Cats are reluctant to sell but they might not have a choice as some of the biggest clubs are pushing for him. The only way out for them is to ensure they secure promotion to the Premier League by winning the playoffs.
