According to a report from TBR, Dusan Vlahovic is all set to part ways with Juventus this summer and Arsenal have emerged as a potential destination for the Serbian international. The Gunners have a long-standing interest in him and have been in contact with his representatives ahead of a potential move.
After making a name for himself at Fiorentina, Vlahovic made the move to Juventus at the start of 2022. While he did find things difficult at the start, the 25-year-old has been a prominent figure in the team of late.
The Serbian international is having yet another impressive season at the Turin-based club as he has contributed towards 19 goals in his 39 outings. While his performances have been top-notch and he is quite happy under Igor Tudor, Vlahovic is expected to be on the move this summer.
His current deal with Juventus runs out in 2026 and the club have been working on a potential renewal for some time. But they haven’t had any success as the Serbian striker isn’t willing to lower his wages. With negotiations getting nowhere, the Old Lady have decided to walk away from it.
They will now look to cash in on him during the upcoming transfer window as it could be the final opportunity to get a decent fee. While he is expected to stay at Juventus until the end of the Club World Cup, his participation in the tournament is seen primarily as a way to maintain visibility and ensure the club has no trouble finding a buyer.
Vlahovic has long been linked with a move to England and Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham seem to be potential destinations at this stage. The Gunners have been monitoring him for some time and they will certainly be in the market for a new striker when the transfer window opens.
Mikel Arteta is frustrated by the current options at his disposal and they could make a move for the 25-year-old who was on their radar before he joined the Old Lady. The Gunners have been in touch about his situation but he isn’t really a priority target for Andrea Berta.
Meanwhile, Manchester United, who will also be in the market for a new striker, have their eyes on Vlahovic. They need a proven goal scorer and he can certainly help their cause. While people at the club are fond of the Serbian striker, he is not a priority target because of their current financial situation.
While Tottenham did add Dominic Solanke to their squad last summer, the move hasn’t really worked out as he has struggled to stay fit. They are now looking to sign another striker and have been in talks with Vlahovic’s agent.
With the 25-year-old expected to be available for just £25 million, he is certainly a very attractive option for all three clubs but the wages could be an issue for a few of them.
