According to Fichajes, Chelsea are plotting a sensational £100 million move to bring Joao Pedro to Stamford Bridge as their new striker. The versatile forward is very much capable of leading the line, and the Blues could knock on Brighton’s door for another one of their players and could face rival competition.
Chelsea, like many of their top-level rivals in the Premier League, are eager to bring in a new striker. The form of Nicolas Jackson has dwindled throughout the season, which has placed greater emphasis on bringing in a new No.9 that will compete for a place with the former Villarreal star.
Liam Delap was an option earlier, although stories close to the Ipswich Town striker’s saga suggest Manchester United are confident of landing him. Chelsea could miss out on the former Manchester City prospect, which might have forced them to look elsewhere and even change their strategy to an extent.
There might have been a drastic change of ideas over at Stamford Bridge, as they are now prepared to pay £100 million for Joao Pedro. The Brazilian attacker could be a big subject of the upcoming transfer window, which could see him move out of Brighton. Apart from Chelsea, other clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool are interested, although there are considerable doubts about whether they will invest as much in Pedro.
Arsenal are already closing in on Viktor Gyokeres despite rival interest, as that deal could close the door on their striker requirement. Liverpool are considering selling Darwin Nunez, and have listed a few options as a replacement, as Pedro could be one of those.
Brighton & Hove Albion reportedly want £100 million to consider Pedro’s sale, and it appears Chelsea are prepared to pay what it takes to land the Brazilian, who has contributed to 17 goals this season. Taking those numbers into consideration, Chelsea are willing to invest a large sum in the Brazilian, although that might not be a realistic valuation for him.
Chelsea will look at the fact that Joao Pedro has considerable experience playing in England, which could prove a huge factor in Brighton’s asking price. Whether the Blues are realistically ready to pay as much as £100 million remains to be seen, as the might be a few other names in the market for a much cheaper price point.
