Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Newcastle United want to sign Joao Pedro

Joao Pedro has considerable admiration from fellow Premier League sides in the Champions League, as he could be on the move.

According to Caught Offside, at least four top clubs are chasing for the signature of Joao Pedro ahead of the summer. Liverpool and Chelsea are considered part of the race, while clubs like Aston Villa and Newcastle United also have an interest in the Brazilian international.

Brighton could once again think about a big sale in the upcoming window, as one of their top stars Joao Pedro continued to attract big interest. The Seagulls are not eager to sell him as of now, not particularly to a Premier League side, although the report states they could accept bids in the region of €60 million.

The price point is a bit of a shocker considering another report stated Brighton wants as much as £100 million for the Brazilian. At the €60 million range, a host of clubs will be keen to showcase their interest, as Liverpool and Chelsea are among those in the running, with Aston Villa and Newcastle United now joining them in the race.

The report states that Chelsea are in the market for a striker, and views Pedro as someone who can take up the No.9 spot to compete with Nicolas Jackson. They also state the Blues do not view the €60m-rated Brazilian international as a priority compared to their other targets such as Liam Delap for instance. Manchester United are closing in on the Ipswich Town star, which could force the Blues to look elsewhere.

Liverpool are probably the team with the strongest interest in Pedro, as they are looking for a new striker with a decision on Darwin Nunez imminent. Alexander Isak is a player of interest, although Newcastle United are set to price them out of a deal for the Swede by placing an exorbitant price tag. Hence, the idea of Pedro might appeal to the Merseysider as long as Brighton places a reasonable price tag.

Aston Villa and Newcastle United chasing Joao Pedro

Given Newcastle United have requirements in other parts of their squad, spending a hefty fee on a new striker might seem unwanted especially if Isak was to stay put. They are in the market for a Callum Wilson replacement, although there are considerable doubts about whether they can afford Pedro given their other requirements, while Brighton are likely to demand significantly more than €60 million.

Aston Villa could have a strong interest considering they could potentially miss out on signing Marcus Rashford permanently. They could look at the €60m-rated Brazilian international if the price is on point, as much like Newcastle United, Unai Emery’s side are also threading closely to their PSR obligations.
