Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern Munich vying for Julian Alvarez

Julian Alvarez has three important suitors in Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich, as there’s a chance that Atletico Madrid might sell.

According to El Chiringuito, Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich are vying for Julian Alvarez ahead of the summer, having been alerted to the possibility of signing the Argentine star. Atletico Madrid could open the doors to a sale, with the club ready to accept offers for more than what they paid Manchester City last summer.

Atletico Madrid managed a massive coup last summer when they landed Julian Alvarez from Manchester City. The Argentine star has been an instant hit in Madrid following a season where he scored 29 goals across all competitions and emerged as a key man for Diego Simeone.

Hence, some reports over the last few weeks have been a bit baffling with suggestions that Atletico Madrid could cash in on the attacker. The report now states, that Simeone’s side are open to offers more than what they paid Manchester City last summer, although they would ideally like around €100 million or more for the 29-goal star.

Barcelona were linked recently with a move, although the financial standing of the Catalans makes it difficult to envisage a transfer at the current moment. The main suitors mentioned in the story are Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich are seemingly planning a long-term succession plan for Harry Kane, as they feel they could use both attackers together. They are already chasing Florian Wirtz, as there’s an off chance that Alvarez could be seen as an alternative to the Bayer Leverkusen star.

Arsenal and Liverpool to battle for Julian Alvarez?

Arsenal have not been definitively linked with a move for Alvarez up until now, as the Gunners are indeed in the market for a proven goalscorer. They are leading the race for Viktor Gyokeres, although, in the last few days, they have seemingly slowed down their pursuit, which might be an indication of them keeping their options open.

Liverpool were linked a while ago, as some reports from back then suggested the Merseysiders could offer Darwin Nunez in exchange for Alvarez. The 29-goal star does suit Arne Slot’s system, although any move will depend on the player and his ready availability to make the move, as well as that of Atletico Madrid, who are yet to confirm their desire to consider offers.
