Manchester United set asking price for Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United would consider parting ways with skipper Bruno Fernandes for a fee over £100 million amidst interest from Bayern Munich.

According to a report from GiveMeSport, Manchester United could sanction the departure of Bruno Fernandes if they receive an offer in excess of £100 million amidst interest from the Middle East and European giants Bayern Munich.

Fernandes has been an integral part of the United first team since joining them at the start of 2020 from Sporting CP. He has only gone from strength to strength and has established himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in the world.

While United haven’t had the best of the seasons as they are 16th in the league and recently lost the Europa League final to Tottenham, the 30-year-old has still enjoyed another successful season on a personal level. He has 19 goals and as many assists in his 56 outings across competitions.

United considering parting ways with Fernandes

His contract at United runs until the summer of 2027 and there is an option to extend his stay by another 12 months. While the Red Devils are under no pressure to sanction his departure, they could still consider cashing in on him after missing out on Champions League football.

Failing to qualify for the UCL is a massive financial blow to a club that is already struggling to balance its books. While they want to help Ruben Amorim sign players who could help him better implement his style of play, they will first have to sell players to raise funds.

Ideally, they would love to have Fernandes leading them next season but they could consider parting ways with him if a massive financial offer comes their way. The report suggests a bid in excess of £100 million could force United to think about selling their skipper.

While Fernandes wants to continue at Old Trafford, he will look at the options at the table if the club decides to cash in on him. The 30-year-old is at the top of Al-Hilal’s wishlist and the report suggests they could soon knock on United’s door with a massive offer.

Bayern Munich to enter race for Fernandes

The player is not keen on leaving Europe at this stage, if he leaves United, he would like to join a club that helps him compete for bigger titles. According to a report from TEAMtalk, Bayern Munich have emerged as a potential destination for the Portuguese international.

The German giants have missed out on their top target Florian Wirtz, who looks set to join Liverpool. As a result, Bayern are looking at other options and Fernandes is one of the names on their wishlist. They consider the United skipper to be an ideal alternative.

Bayern are ready to sit down and hold talks with the Manchester-based club’s representatives regarding a potential transfer. While they are keen on his signature, the asking price might complicate things for them.
