Alejandro Garnacho seems to be living his final weeks at Manchester United. The Argentine winger has had a fallout with Ruben Amorim and he looks set for a move away from the club this summer.
According to a report from TBR, Garnacho’s agents have reached out to Arsenal to discuss a potential summer move. They have had a communication with the North London club, who are on the lookout for a new left winger to bolster their attack.
Garnacho joined United back in 2020. He went up the ranks and got promoted to their first team in 2020. While he has had an impressive rise at Old Trafford, things haven’t been that great for him under Ruben Amorim.
He was left out of the squad for a few fixtures earlier in the season as the manager questioned his work ethic and things went from bad to worse after he was left out of the starting XI for the Europa League final against Tottenham.
The Argentine winger had started all games until the final where he only played a 20-minute cameo as his team ended up on the losing side. Garnacho made his disappointment known publicly and since then his future has been up in the air.
While his contract runs until the summer of 2028, United look set to cash in on him. Garnacho also seems to have accepted that his future lies away from Old Trafford and his agents are already working hard to find him an ideal destination.
Napoli and Atletico Madrid are two clubs that are interested in his signature. While both clubs are considering making a move, Arsenal have emerged as another potential destination. The North London club are looking to bolster their attack this summer, prioritising the signing of a new striker and a left winger.
While they have wingers like Nico Wiliams, Anthony Gordon and Rodryo on their wishlist, Garnacho could prove to be an interesting option for them as he is a proven Premier League star and is a much younger alternative.
With Arsenal looking for a new right-footed winger, Garnacho’s agents have offered them the chance to sign him. They have held talks with representatives of the club regarding a potential move this summer.
The report suggests United would let him leave for a fee of around €60 million, which certainly won’t be a problem as the Gunners are willing to invest heavily to take their attack to the next level. While United are ready to sell, it will be interesting to see if they are ready to let a young prospect join a direct rival.
