Leeds United eyeing Yves Bissouma swoop

Leeds United will reportedly look to sign 28-year-old Malian midfielder Yves Bissouma from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Give Me Sport, Yves Bissouma is the subject of interest from Leeds United. The Whites are combing the market for a midfielder heading into the summer transfer window as they prepare to sustain the challenge to remain in the Premier League. So, the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has emerged as a target for the West Yorkshire outfit.

Yves Bissouma and his Tottenham troubles

Yves Bissouma has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Brighton & Hove Albion in July 2022. While the African midfielder has shown flashes of brilliance in the last three years, he has not been as consistent as he was during his spell with the Seagulls.

The 28-year-old was in and out of the starting lineup in the 2024/25 season, managing only 2,514 minutes of game time across 44 appearances in all competitions while chipping in with two goals. So, it is hardly surprising that Bissouma faces an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium heading into the summer transfer window.

Recent reports have claimed that the Lilywhites are working on the deal to sell the Malian international in the summer transfer window. The former Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder has no shortage of suitors vying for his signature, with Leeds United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Leeds United’s interest in Yves Bissouma is understandable. The Whites are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad in the summer transfer window as they look to remain in the Premier League beyond the 2025/26 season. So, several top-notch players, including Nick Pope, have emerged on Leeds United’s radar.

As for the midfield unit, Bissouma is a viable target, considering his vast experience in the Premier League with Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur. The Malian midfielder’s £100,000-a-week wages should pose no problems for Leeds United either.

Interestingly, Bissouma is not the only Tottenham player on Leeds United’s radar, with the Whites also keen on sealing a permanent move for Manor Solomon in the summer transfer window. So, it will be interesting to see if the duo reunites at Elland Road in the 2025/26 season.
