According to a report by Caught Offside, Pervis Estupinan is the subject of interest from Manchester United. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are among the prospective suitors vying for the Brighton & Hove Albion defender’s signature heading into the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the Premier League club will demand €40-45 million to part ways with the Ecuadorian international.
Pervis Estupinan has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League since joining Brighton & Hove Albion from Villarreal in August 2022. The South American defender has come leaps and bounds in the last three years, although fitness issues have plagued him during his spell with the Seagulls.
The 27-year-old has turned out over 100 times thus far for Brighton & Hove Albion while chipping in with five goals and 14 assists. Meanwhile, Estupinan’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Premier League bigwigs like Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.
Chelsea will dip into the market for a left-back heading into the summer transfer window. While Marc Cucurella has been excellent under Enzo Maresca, the Blues do not have another left-back. So, Maresca wants another option to compete on four fronts, with the Ecuadorian international emerging as a viable target.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s interest in Pervis Estupinan is perplexing. While Tyrell Malacia will likely leave the Premier League club in the summer transfer window, Ruben Amorim has Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu in his squad. In addition, Diego Leon will arrive at Old Trafford in the coming months. So, it is unclear how Estupinan will fit into the scheme of things at Manchester United.
As for Tottenham Hotspur, Ben Davies will leave the North London club as a free agent in the summer transfer window. In addition, Destiny Udogie has blown hot and cold in the 2024/25 season, compelling Tottenham to scour the market for a long-term replacement.
Meanwhile, Estupinan will not cost a bomb, with Brighton & Hove Albion demanding around €40-45 million to part ways with him. While the price tag is excessive, the 27-year-old Ecuadorian international can justify the investment if he remains fit. It will be interesting to see where he plies his trade in the 2025/26 season.
