Manchester United confirm decision to sell Alejandro Garnacho, three Premier League clubs keen

Manchester United have finally decided to sanction the departure of their Argentine sensation Alejandro Garnacho this summer.

Alejandro Garnacho’s future had been uncertain for months, but Manchester United have now made a final decision regarding the young winger. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have decided to sanction his departure, and there is a strong possibility of him staying in the Premier League with three top clubs keen.

Garnacho joined Manchester United towards the end of 2020 from Atletico Madrid. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2022. The 20-year-old has only gone from strength to strength since and is widely regarded as one of the best young wingers in England.

During the 2024/25 season, he was involved in a total of 58 matches and ended up contributing towards 21 goals. While he did put in quite a few impressive performances, things didn’t really go according to plan for him as Ruben Amorim’s arrival affected his game time.

The Portuguese manager had a rift with the Argentine winger early in his tenure, even dropping him from the squad at one point. While tensions seemed to ease temporarily, things took a turn for the worse when the winger was benched for the Europa League final against Tottenham, a match they ended up losing, even though the player featured in every minute of the competition leading up to the final.

Alejandro Garnacho publicly expressed his disappointment over the manager’s decision and ever since, it has been pretty much certain that he will push for an exit. While his contract runs until 2028, he has decided to end his time at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are ready to sell Garnacho

With Alejandro Garnacho keen on making a move away, there has been no shortage of interest in the services of the 20-year-old. While Manchester United were yet to take a final call on his future, they have finally decided to cash in on him. The Red Devils are not in the best of financial position, and the departure of Garnacho could actually bring a decent amount of cash to help them with their summer plans.

With both the player and the club ready to part ways, it is pretty much guaranteed that he won’t be seen in Manchester United’s red again. While Bayer Leverkusen are keen on his signature, and there is interest from Italian clubs as well, the financial side of things will make it quite difficult for foreign clubs.

As a result, there is a strong possibility Alejandro Garnacho could continue in the Premier League, and according to Romano, three English clubs have shown interest in signing him. While the names of those clubs remain undisclosed, it will be intriguing to see which of United’s rivals are keen on landing their attacking sensation.
