Florian Wirtz set to join Liverpool in €150 million deal

Arne Slot’s Liverpool have reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen worth €150 million for the signing of Florian Wirtz.

Liverpool have been working on a deal to sign Florian Wirtz for some time. While the player has been keen on making the move to Anfield, negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen have not been easy for the Reds because of the Bundesliga club’s massive asking price.

However, the Premier League champions have finally managed to strike a deal with Die Werkself. According to an update by reputed Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool have a full agreement in place with Bayer Leverkusen. The deal will be worth €150 million, including add-ons, and Wirtz is expected to undergo his medical at his new club in the next hours.

Wirtz got promoted to Bayer Leverkusen’s first-team in the summer of 2020, and he has only gone from strength to strength since. Not only has he established himself as a key figure in both club and country, but the 22-year-old is also widely regarded as one of the best attacking midfielders in the world.

The German international had another impressive season with Leverkusen as he contributed towards 31 goals (16 goals, 15 assists) in his 45 outings. While he still has two years left on his deal, Wirtz is ready to take the next step in his career.

Wirtz is set to join Liverpool

Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Liverpool have all been keen on signing Floriwn Wirtz. But Bayern and City have failed in their pursuit, as the youngster has his heart set on a move to Anfield and he has made his desire known to all parties involved.

He is ready to join Arne Slot’s team and has already given the green light to the move. The 22-year-old will be penning a five-year deal at the Merseyside club, and he has been waiting for both clubs to reach an agreement.

After long-drawn negotiations, Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen have finally reached a common ground. They have a total agreement in place for Wirtz to move to Anfield in the coming days. The Reds will be paying €150 million in total as a package and the 22-year-old will travel to Liverpool in the next hours to undergo his medical.
