Tottenham face frustration in Christian Norgaard chase

Brentford could frustrate Tottenham Hotspur in their attempts to lure key midfielder Christian Norgaard alongside manager Thomas Frank.

According to Give Me Sport, Tottenham could face plenty of complications in their attempts to lure Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard. The Dane is considered key for the Bees, as incoming Spurs manager and Thomas Frank would like the 31-year-old midfielder by his side in North London.

Brentford face an anxious period, as there are plenty of changes expected at the club in line with the departure of Thomas Frank. The Danish manager is closing in on a move to Tottenham, as the North Londoners have chosen him as the viable replacement for Ange Postecoglou.

While there are still things that need sorting in the background, and Frank wants some of his backroom staff from Brentford to follow him to Spurs. They are not alone, as the Danish tactician also wants key midfielder Christian Norgaard to join him over at Tottenham, which could prove complicated for the north Londoners.

The 31-year-old midfielder knows Frank’s system in and out, and the Danish manager might also feel a familiar face in his team would help smoothen his transition. However, Brentford, who incidentally only renewed Norgaard’s contract at the end of March for another two years, feel they are in a strong position to negotiate, and sincerely hope that Spurs stay away from their main midfield folcrum.

Norgaard has played 196 times for Brentford since joining them in 2019, and Frank has a great bond with the 31-year-old Premier League midfielder. He was key to how the Bees played on the pitch under the Danish boss, which is why Frank wants him on the north London side.

Tottenham’s Christian Norgaard chase complicated

Brentford are aware of the interest in Norgaard from clubs apart from Tottenham. The North Londoners could face a frustrated period in luring the 31-year-old Premier League midfielder, as the Bees are expected to demand a significant fee in return, which may not resonate with Norgaard’s current age.

Spurs are expected to consider offers for Yves Bissouma, which does leave space for a new addition to the midfield. Frank might have plenty of choices in the market, although, given the unstable atmosphere at Tottenham, he might prefer to get the Danish midfielder to help ease through the process and make the other Tottenham players understand his system in a much better way.
