According to Caught Offside, many European sides have expressed an interest in Oleksandr Zinchenko with the 28-year-old Ukranian close to leaving Arsenal. The left-back, who can also operate in a midfield role has a year left on his deal as clubs from Italy and Germany are keen to explore a move.
Oleksandr Zinchenko was a brilliant signing for Arsenal three years ago, as he helped them bridge the gap between themselves and those above them in the Premier League. He fit into Mikel Arteta’s system superbly and was crucial in their title challenge in the 2022-23 season.
However, injuries have been a common issue with Zinchenko, as those consistent spells on the sidelines paved the way for others to stake a claim. He has been under-utilised since the second part of the 2023-24 season, while last term, teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly has now emerged as Arsenal’s starting left-back.
They also have Riccardo Calafiori in their ranks, while Arsenal are being linked with Jorrel Hato as a new target. Hence, they appear well covered in the left-back position, as well as in midfield where the Ukranian also tends to play at times. Zinchenko is poised to seal an exit from the club in this window, as several European giants are angling a move for the utility man.
Arsenal are demanding at least £10-15 million for the 28-year-old, which may sound reasonable given the Ikranian’s quality. His wages are an issue with the left-back reportedly making around 5 million a year at Arsenal, although that might be resolved in the background should one of the interested parties make a concrete approach.
Starting with Italy, there are a host of Serie A sides interested in Zinchenko, with AC Milan and Juventus at the forefront of this chase. The former are in a transition period, much like Arsenal were three years ago, as they could see the wisdom in signing a solid player like the £10-15 million-rated Arsenal utility man. The Rossoneri have held talks for the Ukranian, although any move is still far away from reaching any conclusion.
Juventus, on the other hand, could view him as an alternative to some of the younger names they have as potential targets. Others like Borussia Dortmund are also keen on the defender, as they were back in January, as Zinvhenko could have multiple offers on his table as he looks set to depart the Gunners.
