According to a report from TBR Football, Manchester City are keen on acquiring the services of Valentino Livramento, and they are willing to pay £40 million to prise him away from Newcastle United. The English full-back is a top target for the Manchester-based giants, who are on the lookout for a new right-back.
While things didn’t work out for Livramento at Chelsea, a move to Southampton helped him gain regular first-team action. He made a name for himself with his consistent performances and earned a move to Newcastle in the summer of 2023.
The 22-year-old right-back has only gone from strength to strength since joining the Tyneside club. He has established himself as a key figure in their team and has featured in 80 matches so far.
Livramento was involved in a total of 45 matches last season and his consistent performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs from across Europe. Manchester City are one of the clubs that are keen on signing the young full-back.
While Kyle Walker has returned to the club after his loan spell at AC Milan, the 35-year-old doesn’t have a future under Pep Guardiola. The Spanish manager is on the lookout for a new right-back. While they have already spent in excess of £100 million, City are still expected to make quite a few moves this summer.
Signing a new right-back is one of their priorities and Livramento is quite high on their wishlist. City are ready to step up their interest in the 22-year-old. They are willing to put forward an offer worth £40 million to prise him away from Newcastle.
However, they won’t find it easy to strike a deal with the Magpies as they don’t have any plans of parting ways with him. With three years still left on his deal, Eddie Howe’s team are in a very comfortable position with regards to his future.
