Chelsea undeterred in pursuit of Morgan Rogers

Chelsea are unfazed by Aston Villa’s reported price tag of key target Morgan Rogers, with the versatile attacker keen on a move to London.

According to TEAMtalk, Aston Villa’s mammoth £80 million asking price for key asset Morgan Rogers will not deter Chelsea in their efforts to land the versatile attacker. The Blues are keen to attract top talents as they believe a deal can be stuck for less than the reported amount with the player keen to make a move to London.

The presence of Champions League football could do wonders for teams keen on attracting the very best players in the market. For Aston Villa, it is a disaster to not qualify for the top-tier European competition after finishing outside of the Premier League top five.

Not only does it bring about financial issues as they miss out on the lucrative revenue the Champions League offers, but Aston Villa could be in danger of losing some of their best players. Then there are PSR issues with the Birmingham-based club, as they must find a solution to balance their books, with player sales the likely direction to ensure there’s parity.

Unai Emery does not want to sell players like Jacob Ramsey or Morgan Rogers, and it is the latter who is a big topic of this transfer window. Aston Villa are not keen to entertain proposals for the England international, however, they could be persuaded if interested clubs come up with £80 million or more for the 22-year-old mainstay.

Arsenal are one of the clubs interested, while Chelsea are also very much in the race. The Blues are eager to bolster their squad with a dynamic attacker and are currently unfazed by Aston Villa’s asking price for the 22-year-old mainstay.

Chelsea face competition for Morgan Rogers

Chelsea believe they have an opportunity to land Rogers, and going by their patterns in the past, they will not be worried too much about paying the right price for a said player. The Blues are in the process of improving their attacking setup, as the 22-year-old Aston Villa star could provide them with a level of dynamism they probably lack at the current moment.

Chelsea will face competition in the race for Morgan Rogers, as Arsenal are considered their main rival. The Gunners are interested in the 22-year-old as Mikel Arteta loves a player who can play multiple roles. Much like their London counterparts, Arsenal too are unfazed by the prospect of paying £80 million or more, as the England international will be seen as a solid addition for the long-term future by either club.
