According to Tutto Mercato Web, Koni De Winter seems destined to leave Genoa for his big career move, with Crystal Palace and West Ham United the most interested clubs from the Premier League. The Belgian defender is reportedly valued at €20 million, with the Serie A side expected to demand around that point or more.
Konid De Winter has made a sufficient impact with his performances for Genoa over the last two seasons in Serie A. He has been their key defensive rock at the back, with the Italian club aware of the growing interest in the 23-year-old Belgian international not only within their league but also from abroad.
Portuguese sides FC Porto and Benfica are keen, while Inter Milan are very much interested in making an offer. Crystal Palace and West Ham United are also interested, with the London duo the leading admirers from the Premier League for the 23-year-old Belgian international.
Genoa spent around €10 million to sign him from Juventus back in 2023, and are demanding at least €20 million to let De Winter leave. There’s the possibility of the Italians demanding even more for their key defender.
Starting with Palace, they are bracing for Marc Guehi’s departure, as the likes of Ousmane Diomande are seen as a target. Talks have begun for the latter, while they are in the market assessing other targets in the window, including Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah.
The links to De Winter will not surprise any of the Hammers fans, as they are in dire need of a quality defender. Whether they have more to offer than Crystal Palace remains to be seen, as the Eagles have booked their place in next season’s Europa League, which will prove key to attracting top talents like the 23-year-old Belgian international.
West Ham and Palace are also keen on Tiago Djalo, as both teams are eager to lure in a new defender before the close of the window. As for the De Winter chase, there’s a good chance either club can attract the 23-year-old Belgian international towards London, especially if the Genoa star deems the Premier League as his next big career step.
