Crystal Palace, West Ham United fail with approaches to sign Ange-Yoan Bonny

Crystal Palace and West Ham United were keen on signing 21-year-old French striker Ange-Yoan Bonny from Serie A club Parma in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Italian outlet FC Inter News, Crystal Palace and West Ham United have been keen on signing Ange-Yoan Bonny in the summer transfer window. The two London clubs are eager to reinforce their offensive units by signing a striker. So, the 21-year-old Parma centre-forward emerged as a target for Crystal Palace and West Ham.

Crystal Palace and West Ham United also submitted enquiries to sign the Frenchman in the summer transfer window. In addition, Bournemouth and AS Roma were keen on signing the Parma attacking prospect in the summer transfer window. However, Bonny will join Inter Milan, reuniting with Cristian Chivu at San Siro.

Who is Ange-Yoan Bonny?

Ange-Yoan Bonny has established himself as one of the most exciting young prospects in Serie A since joining Parma from Chateauroux in August 2021. The 21-year-old has come leaps and bounds in the last four years, but he has yet to become as productive as he would like thus far.

The French striker managed only six goals and four assists in 37 Serie A appearances in the 2024/25 season. However, Bonny’s stock in the market has been high, with Crystal Palace, West Ham United, and several other clubs pursuing his signature heading into the summer transfer window. However, the youngster will likely join Inter Milan and reunite with Cristian Chivu this year.

London move has not materialised

Crystal Palace’s interest in Ange-Yoan Bonny is understandable. The Eagles are in a spot of bother over Jean-Philippe Mateta’s long-term future. With the former FSV Mainz 05 striker a target for several well-known clubs, the South London club must scour the market for a potential long-term replacement. So, several candidates, including Emanuel Emegha, have emerged on Crystal Palace’s radar, with Bonny also a viable target.

As for West Ham United, the East London club signed Niclas Fullkrug last summer and completed a loan deal for Evan Ferguson. However, neither striker stamped his authority in the 2024/25 season, and West Ham will return to the market for a striker. So, Bonny was an option worth considering.

However, Crystal Palace and West Ham have failed with approaches to sign the 21-year-old Frenchman, who will likely join Inter Milan in the summer transfer window. So, the two London clubs must look elsewhere for a striker in the summer transfer window after the snub from Bonny.
