Jamie Gittens only wants Chelsea move amid Bayern Munich links

Chelsea have received a boost in their pursuit of Jamie Gittens, who only wants a move to Stamford Bridge despite interest from Bayern Munich.

Chelsea have been working on a deal to sign Jamie Gittens for some time now. While they already have the green light from the player, the two clubs haven’t been able to reach a common ground. The Blues might have failed to sign him in time for the Club World Cup, but they still remain keen on adding him to their squad ahead of next season.

While Bayern Munich are willing to rival the London club for his signature, they are unlikely to cause any problems for Chelsea. According to a report from TBR, Gittens has his heart set on a move to Stamford Bridge and won’t make any last-minute changes.

Gittens left England and moved to Germany to join Borussia Dortmund back in 2020. He went up the ranks at some pace, and of late, the 20-year-old has been a key figure in their team. He enjoyed an impressive season last time out as he contributed towards 17 goals in his 48 outings.

His performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs, and he seems set to take the next step in his career. Dortmund are known to be a selling club, and they won’t stand in his way as long as they get the right price for the English youth international.

Chelsea closing in on Gittens’ signature

Chelsea have already agreed a long-term deal with the 20-year-old, and they were in talks with Dortmund to finalise an agreement prior to the CWC. However, things didn’t go according to plan for them. While they missed the deadline, the Blues remain in talks and want to get it done in the coming weeks.

Gittens is keen on returning to England and has given priority to Chelsea since the start. He has already turned down the opportunity to join Arsenal and Bayern Munich. Despite suffering a setback early in the window, the German giants have rekindled their interest after failing to sign Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams.

Bayern seek more quality on the flanks and considers the 20-year-old an ideal fit for their system. He is already a proven Bundesliga star, which certainly helps. But they are unlikely to change his stance. Gittens only wants to sign for Chelsea this summer. The Blues restarted talks with Dortmund on Monday, and they are hoping to reach an agreement with the German club in the coming days.
