Nantes have announced that club captain Pedro Chirivella (28) has joined Panathinaikos. The Spanish midfielder arrived in Ligue 1 five years ago upon the expiry of his Liverpool contract. The Valencia CF youth product has since been elected captain and has been a key member in Les Canaris’ midfield and was a part of the club’s Coupe de France triumph back in 2022.

Chirivella was to enter his final contract year with Nantes. Eventually, he would pursue his career in Greece. “An exemplary captain, Pedro always wore our colors with pride and determination. A respected leader both on and off the pitch, he left his mark on the history of FC Nantes”, added the club in a statement. The Ligue 1 side reportedly agreed on a €2 million transfer fee with Panathinaikos.
