According to Caught Offside, Manchester United are ready to compete with Tottenham for the signing of Davide Frattesi. Inter Milan could sell the Italian midfielder for a fee of around €35 million as the Red Devils have already approached the Nerazzuri to find out further details of a potential move.
Davide Frattesi could be in danger of ending his Inter Milan career prematurely, as he barely saw his status elevate off the bench last season. The Italian international has been preferred more as a substitute under former boss Simone Inzagui in his first season at the San Siro, however the same might be said about new boss Christian Chivu.
The midfielder has yet to decide on his immediate future, however, Inter Milan would be open to selling him for the right price. Previous reports stated the Nerazzuri wanted at least €50 million, and as per the latest on the midfielder’s situation, the club have slashed their asking rate to €35 million.
At the reported fee a move for the €35m-rated Italian midfielder could be on the cards as Tottenham were keen to make a move in the summer with their interest dating back to February. Spurs are looking for a dynamic midfielder to come in and improve their ranks in the middle, as Thomas Frank could offload Yves Bissouma and make further changes to his midfield setup.
Spurs are not alone in the mix, although with Champions League football back in north London, they do have a good enough chance as their other rivals. Meanwhile, Manchester United are the other team interested, although there are many more keen.
Manchester United are in a tussle for Frattesi, as he’s one of the options that Ruben Amorim considers for his midfield. There are links to Fabian Ruiz, which signals their intent to bring in a controller profile who would help dictate the tempo of the game.
Frattesi is a solid enough option, who will be hungry for a starting berth. Manchester United have already approached to find out more details of a move, and with Inter Milan willing to sell, there might be more to this story as the window progresses.
